NVITE Technology in Action: Smart Access Control for Heavy Vehicles
The first year of collaboration with NEDAP Identification Systems has successfully come to a close, and we ended 2025 with a number of significant projects. Among them, we would like to highlight a success story that represents the first model parking facility based on a fully digital and secure access control system.
Along the Mestre Bypass, CAV – Concessioni Autostradali Venete has developed two parking areas for heavy goods vehicles that introduce a new paradigm in access management. In this context, NEDAP’s NVITE reader plays a central role by enabling secure, fast, and contactless access, ensuring operational reliability and complete control over site entry.
NVITE is used to read the Predictive QR Code®, enabling digital user authentication within a modern, traceable, and fully integrated system. This application demonstrates the versatility and technological openness of NVITE, which can seamlessly support innovative solutions while maintaining the highest security standards.
The two parking areas are open 24/7, year-round, fully fenced and monitored by video surveillance, and can accommodate up to 10 heavy goods vehicles at the same time. Access is free of charge and reserved exclusively for heavy vehicles.
Completing the model, the facilities offer dedicated services for drivers, including free Wi-Fi, restroom facilities with hot showers (for men, women, and people with disabilities), a refreshment and relaxation area with vending machines, and a video surveillance system to further enhance security.
This project confirms NEDAP’s NVITE as a benchmark solution for access control in modern infrastructure and reinforces the role of GSG INTERNATIONAL as NEDAP’s official distributor and technology partner in Italy, supporting the market’s transition toward safer, more digital, and more sustainable mobility solutions.
